Haul – 2017 Summer Sale

This sale season was not as successful as what I am generally used to, but that means that I actually saved money, so that must be a plus. I always give myself a budget and I used less than half of it, a new record for me.

I ended up, as per usual, going on a shopping trip to Rome. It was tiring as hell, but I am content with what I bought. Let’s start (every item I could find online will be linked in the titles).

1. Bershka – Red A-line dress

FullSizeRenderIMG_9439

As soon as I saw this dress I fell in love. I find it to be very romantic and flirty. The skirt does not get too high, even if it is windy. I have been looking for a cute red dress for quite a long while, so I was pretty ecstatic when I saw this. This item was not on sale and I got it for €15,99.

2. Bershka – White Pants

FullSizeRender 2IMG_9444

Again, an item that was not on sale. I find these pants to be very elegant and a staple in any woman’s wardrobe. They are a statement piece and not something you see very often. I got them for €17,99.

3. Bershka – White Bralette

IMG_9450IMG_9453

Unfortunately, I could not find this bralette online. It is very lovely, with lace detailing and slightly see through silk. I am still not sure wether I would wear this on its own or under a very low cut dress or shirt. We will have to wait and see.

4. Bershka – Black Bralette

FullSizeRender copyIMG_9455IMG_9457

Now, this bralette I definitely will not wear on its own, as it is very see through and cannot be exchanged for a top. I think I will wear it underneath a couple of dresses I have, black of course, and even a couple of dress shirts. It was on sale and I got it for €6,99.

5. Nuna Lie – Floral Dress

FullSizeRender copy 2IMG_9465IMG_9468

I already talked about this dress in this post and I am very sorry I could not find it online. It it very beautiful and I wish you would look at the pictures on that post to see how it fits.

6. Artlove Paris – Floral dress

IMG_9470IMG_9472IMG_9473

I bought this dress for €50 from a boutique in my town and despite looking for the brand online I could not find this item. I suppose it is an indie brand and therefore harder to find online. Anyways, I love it. It has a very deep neckline and slits on both sides. I wore it to Rome on a Saturday and it was magical.

7. WYCON – Magnetic Palette Large

IMG_9476

I have been eyeing this sort of diy palette for some time and I decided to finally buy it. It is the sort of palette that you create yourself. I bought it for €6,90 and it was not on sale.

8. WYCON – Refills

Of course, I wanted to start forming my palette with some nice colours and I picked three. First, shade 01 white matte, which was unintentional, as I wanted another one. Secondly, shade 40 marsala, which is a very unique yet popular shade that I have wanted for a while. Lastly, I got a metallic colour, shade 70 tortora satin, very intense. I have yet to use all of these colours, but I swatched them and they look great.

9. Etsy – Simply Notebooks planner

I decided to invest in a very good planner, since I am starting university in September and I want to be as organised as possible, therefore being as productive as I can. I ordered a very pretty hard cover planner, which apparently is not available anymore on the easy store, but the shop offers many other soft cover planners, here. Mine was an investment, since the planner cost €35 and shipping from Estonia to Italy was €10, for a total of €45. Unfortunately, my planner has not even shipped yet so I cannot show you how great it looks, but I plan on doing an organisation/planning post sooner or later.

Thank you once again for reading.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Ox – Review

I finally got myself a pair of low white converse! I have been wanting these for quite a long time and I am aware that I am late to the party, since every single person has them, but at least I am here.

I have been in the lookout for low prices for a couple of months and Amazon came through. Here is the link on Amazon Italia, in case you are interested; I am sure you will have no trouble finding them on Amazon no matter which country you live in.

Now, let’s get to the shoe itself. The most simple and classic tennis show which no one uses for tennis. I have the canvas version, instead of the leather one because it is 100 times more comfortable. I have another pair of converse made of leather (here) and I still have to find a way to wear them without killing my heels.

IMG_8389

I love these shoes, despite them hurting the first time I wore them, but now everything is fine and they fit like a glove. I would not recommend wearing converse when you are, for example, visiting a city and having to walk too much, since they are very flat so not very ergonomic.

IMG_8396

The only downside, probably, is that you have to be extremely careful with not getting them dirty. These white ones are almost impossible to clean. Also because if you get them wet the glue may come out. To make them look as clean as possible I recommend washing the laces more often than the shoes.

Look of the Day – July 9, 2017

I am back in the swing of things with this amazing impromptu photoshoot that my friend partook in; you can find her on Instagram here. Later in the evening we went to the pool where there were some salsa and bachata classes, so I felt like this dress was necessary. I bought it on sale from a store called Nuna Lie, but I am unable to find this particular dress on their site.

IMG_8334

I have never been one for colour, but I want this summer to be full of flowy dresses, both floral and not. Being able to feel the air and wind is phenomenal. Also, the colour scheme on this dress is lovely, with pinks and dusty pastels.

I also decided to do something different with my makeup. I do not normally use colours, but since I have a couple of palettes I wanted to give it a try. I used the “En Taupe” palette by Zoeva, mainly the purple and lilac shades.

IMG_8331IMG_8388

And to top everything off, here we have a moment where I do not have my resting bitch face on. Surprise. That might be because I am happy as of late.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Thank you so much for reading.

Australia Travel Diary – Part 2

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to make the second part of this post, but here I am and I have a lot to say. Here you can find part 1.

There are also photos taken at the beach that I posted on another post, right here, in a swimsuit review.

For the rest of our trip I took pictures of the scenery and of all the beaches we went to. For example, we went to a pretty private beach, called Golden Beach, with very little sand but great water. Unfortunately, again thanks to the jellyfish alarm, I was too scared to get in.

IMG_6587IMG_6595IMG_6576

Another place we visited was a hill near Maleny from where we could see the Glasshouse Mountains, which are very dear to the people native to Australia.

IMG_6514IMG_6503

We also went to Point Cartwright where I sunbathed a bit and then took some pictures of the ocean.

IMG_6467IMG_6468IMG_6480IMG_6474

Our flight back was less eventful and I could not wait getting back home. It was an amazing and fun trip with family and if I ever am to come back to Australia, I would have to stay for at least a month to really enjoy it as it should be enjoyed.

Nike Air Max Thea Premium in Desert Camo – Review

You do not have any idea of how much I have wanted this pair of shoes for the past two years nor how near and far I went looking for them. No shop had them, no online store, no nothing.

Until Nike decided to bring them back right in time for my birthday and this was my gift from my parents. They are probably my favourite shoes at the time and I love them.

img_0132

The problem was not finding this style of shoe as much as finding the colour, Desert Came, that everyone loves and it is always the first on to sell out.

If you wear a big size, you might have luck on the Nike site, here, where there are two sizes available. I bought mine on Zalando when they were also on sale, for no reason. I finally got lucky for once.

img_6780

I was a bit scared before buying them, because reviews on the site said that they were not comfortable. I do not agree with that in the slightest: they are the most comfortable pair of sneakers that I own. In my opinion, you should get half a size up, which is what I did, and they fit perfectly.

img_6781

They are a pretty costly shoe, €130 on the website, but in my opinion they are totally worth the investment, since you can pair them up with everything.

img_6782

It is indeed a premium shoe and it feels like it 100%.

Riot by Monti – Swimsuit Review

I purchased a swimsuit from this brand, Riot by Monti, some months ago especially for my trip to Australia (part 1 here). I had my eyes on this particular style, which they do not carry anymore on their site, for months and finally decided to splurge.

I say splurge because their prices are not H&M low, but still, they are not too expensive. You can check their styles out here and they also have an Instagram account here. They also have another Instagram account called Riot Babes which, if you tag it and hashtag your post with #riotbabes, could feature you (they did feature me here).

IMG_6353

The swimsuit itself is amazing. It is made with great quality material and it is not see-through at all. The fit and shape of this particular swimsuit is amazing, exactly what you would want from a one-piece.

Getting it on was slightly more difficult, since the material is not particularly stretchy, but that is absolutely fine.

IMG_6371IMG_6416

This is my favourite swimsuit ever and I would totally recommend you guys purchase swimsuits from this brand. Keep in mind that it is an independent brand and that is the reason why the prices are higher as well as shipping and customs. In my opinion, it is worth it.

Australia Travel Diary – Part 1

I finally decided to make this blog post and I am terrified of how huge it is going to get. I have to divide it in at least two parts in order to not bore you guys, so bear with me.

As some of you may know, I left for Australia at the end of December for my winter holidays, along with my grandmother. This whole trip happened because my uncle and his family live there and grandma has not seen them in years. Therefore, it was high time we got a move on.

We left on the 21st of December from Fiumicino Airport in Rome at 8:45pm. Of all the airports I went to, Fiumicino is the best organised, in my opinion. We bought our tickets with Qantas, an Australian company, but all the flights were operated by Emirates.

IMG_2904

I tried to dress somewhat casual, since we had to go from very cold temperatures in Rome to very warm ones in Dubai and then Brisbane. I wore a simple pair of leggings with a camisole and a long shirt on top, while keeping my bomber jacket in my backpack, which was my hand luggage.

The flight to Dubai was 6 hours long and it was not too bad. We had dinner on the plane and I tried to sleep, but my main problem is that I cannot sleep unless I am extremely comfortable and this was not the case, since we were flying Economy.

We got to Dubai, where we went through customs again and we went to our gate for our 5-hour layover. Weirdly enough, this layover did not seem so bad. I went and got Burger King (which was not as good as I am used to) and just waited. The way currency works in this airport is that you pay with whatever currency you have (I am not sure they accept all currencies, but the main ones yes) and the change they give you is in their own currency, so the dirhams.

IMG_2913

Next, before boarding the plane we had to pass through additional customs to make sure that we had no liquids. Next, our 14-hour flight started. This was the roughest for me, since when we still had 6 hours left I got very bad heartburn from something I ate (pro tip: do not eat things that you so not know for sure you react well to). I had to go and ask the cabin crew for some medicine and finally, after two pills I felt better.

The flight seemed infinte, but we finally made it to Brisbane, on the 23rd of December in the morning. It was of course very hot, since it was the middle of summer. Our family lives an hour away from the city, in a town called Landsborough, not really in the middle of nowhere, but close. They live near the mountains people of Australia hold saint. We made a quick stop at a fruit store and I loved all the colours.

IMG_2961

My uncle’s house faces a forest where hundreds of birds are heard singing everyday, and I must say I am not used to any type of noise, besides cars passing through the city.

IMG_6325

On Christmas Day, our second full day there, after catching up on much needed sleep, we went to a beach, Mooloolaba, which ended up being amazing. We only went there in recognition the that day and we walked around its shore.

IMG_3004IMG_3011IMG_3056

Everybody is extremely kind and welcoming there, I noticed. The day after, the 26th, we went to the Australia Zoo, which is property of the Irwin family, Steve Irwin’s legacy. It was very interesting, huge and well kept. The ticket does cost quite a bit, but it is worth it, since you have access to every show and facility.

IMG_3104IMG_3105IMG_3121IMG_3125IMG_3159IMG_3155

On the 27th, we went to Brisbane to spend the night. We wanted to take the train from Landsborough, but the railway was not working so they offered us a free bus ride to a farther away train station and we took the train from there.

Once in Brisbane we visited a square and then a “shopping centre” which was in the open and that is where I stocked up on gifts and souvenirs.

IMG_3205IMG_3206IMG_3209IMG_3212

Then we checked in at our hotel, the Urban, which was very neat, with very nice beds and bathrooms, but if you want to go there for the pool and hot tub you will be disappointed. Anyways, it was very accommodating.

We ended up having lunch and cocktails near the river, at a very busy and young place, the Bavarian Beer Café.

I loved it.

IMG_3215IMG_3223IMG_3230IMG_3232

This is part 1 for now. I will add a second part to this for sure, since I bought a camera there and had fun with it.

Thank you for reading.
