Haul – 2017 Winter Sale

I finally went shopping this season and I have to say I am not too displeased with the results, although I still need some items.

I went shopping with the intention of buying office attire for my New York trip in March, but I only bought two items with that purpose. Let’s start.

1 .  Huge Scarf – H&M

img_6641img_6645

I bought this extremely long and fluffy scarf because it has been freezing lately here in Italy. It even snowed in Sicily, just to give you an idea. So I got this scarf, although it was not on sale and I could not find it on the website. It is a light grey with a very slight blue tint. It cost €14,99 and it feels like cashmere, although it is 100% acrylic.

2. Basic T-Shirt – H&M

img_6647img_6650

I already have a couple of tees like this, but I could not help myself because this colour is extremely pretty. It is a neutral grey with warm tones and I am a sucker for it. It cost €9,99 and it was not on sale, since basics never are, in my experience. I got in in a size S.

3. Knitted Pullover – H&M

img_6664img_6669

Again, I bought this pullover mainly for the colour but also for the semi-deep v-neck. I love sweaters with this cut, since I consider them very sexy and feminine. On the side I could only find it in the colour black. It originally cost €24,99 but I paid €10 for it. I got it in a size S.

4. Blazer – H&M

img_6682

I really needed a blazer for New York and I found a pretty simple black on for €24,99 although not on sale. It fits nicely and it is tighter around the waist, which is what I was looking for. I got it in a size US 6, EUR 36.

5. Bomber Jacker – Pull & Bear

I know, I have a problem. I just love jackets and bomber jackets in particular. I already have a black one and an army green one, but I really wanted this one. The colour is gorgeous and I got it even though it was not on sale, for €29,99. It has an edgier look than my other ones and I cannot wait to wear it. I got it in a size M.

6. Crop Top – Pull & Bear

img_6692

This is a very cropped crop top with a crossover neckline. I would wear it with high waisted jeans or with a high waisted skirt. It is knitted and it was on sale for €5,99 reduced from €12,99. I got it in a size S.

7. Sporty Crop Top – Pull & Bear

This crop top just augments my ambition to have abs. I really want to wear it at the gym without worrying about my stomach. I could not find it on the site, unfortunately. It has “GIRL GANG” printed on the bottom and it looks very nice on. I got it in a size S.

8. Tulle Dress – Pull & Bear

The love I have for this dress is immense. I never thought this type of dress would flatter my body shape, but this particular one does. It is not too short and it fits very nicely, while still being flowy. It cost €19,99 and it was again, not on sale.

9. Knit Dress – Zara

img_6708

Once again, I could not find this particular dress on the site and it is honestly a shame. It is so beautiful on and not too tight. It must be sold out almost everywhere, since I also got the last one in the store. It was reduced form €49,99 to €19,99, so it is probably the best bargain here.

10. Flowy Shirt – Zara

img_6709img_6710

I needed a shirt like this for my New York trip and I am glad I found it. I love how it is not stark white and how it looks very classic. And yes, you guessed right, it is not on the site anymore.

Well, this is all for now. I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for reading.

Beauty Haul – December, 2016

I kind of went on a shopping spree, with the excuse that I am leaving for Australia in three days and I need to have everything prepared. Lame excuse, but at least I do not feel as guilty. Let’s get started :

1. BaByliss 32mm Hair Curler

img_2850

I had my eyes on this hair curler for months and I finally decided to get it, since it is exactly what I need : something to create loose curls and waves with, to always look put together. I got it at an electronics store and it was € 34,99. I already put it to test, but my hair was very dirty, so the curls were not exceptional, but they did last for a couple of days. Here are two links on amazon : one and two.

2. Schwarzkopf Heat Protecting Spray

img_2853

Of course I had to also stock up on heat protectant, since I need to keep my hair in check on vacation. I have used this in the past and I just repurchased it. It protects up until 220°C and I love it.

3. Maybelline Super Stay Primer

img_2854

I finally decided to buy a primer and I must say, it actually works. Of course, it does not keep makeup on for 24 hours, but it does indeed lengthen its duration. Makeup on my nose is the first one to go, but with this it tends to stay on longer, and that is all the proof I need. It has a slight peachy colour as soon as you pump it out, but it blends into the skin as if it were transparent.

4. L’Oréal Lumi Fondation

img_2855

I repurchased this foundation after a couple of years of using other ones. I was looking at my old pictures, trying to figure out why my skin was glowing and dewy and I understood that this was the reason why. Although it is not the most long lasting foundation and has to be powdered during the day, it turns out beautiful in pictures. My shade is N3 Pure Linen, which was the lightest I could find, and luckily it matches me. You can find it here or here.

5. WYCON Liquid Lipstick – shade 04

I decided to buy another liquid lipstick and I chose this mauve shade. It does not have 100% full coverage, but two layers will do. It cost € 6,90. The staying power is pretty strong, but of course it feels dry, as all liquid lipsticks do.

6. KIKO Precision Face Brush 08

img_2862

I desperately needed a new face brush and I got this one from KIKO. It is perfect for underneath the eyes, despite not picking up too much product, which may be a good thing, so to not cake up my face. It has a good weight and it feels and looks very professional. I already tried it, reason why the bristles are beige, and it is very soft. It cost € 16,95.

7. KIKO Sculpting Touch Contour Stick – shade 201

img_2868

I finally got a creamy contour product. I am so excited to try this out and see if I am any good at contouring. This is very creamy, but might be a little too easy to blend. I got the darkest shade, since it was the cool toned one.

img_2869

8. KIKO Definition Eyeliner

My old liquid eyeliner is not as smooth as it once was and it is also almost empty, so I needed another one. I got this one and I tried it once : I am not exactly impressed; it was not as intense with only one swipe and it slightly smudged on my outer eye. We will see how it will work out next time. It also takes some time to dry, so I have to wait before applying anything else. It cost € 6,90.

9. KIKO Blending Brush 200

This is my second time buying this, since my old one is basically dead. I love it and it is very good at its job. On the site they do not carry it anymore, since they brought out a new line and the brush replacing this particular shape should be this one.

10. Essence BB Lipgloss – 01 keep it real

I have been pretty interested into glosses lately, so I decided to get this one, mainly for the shade. Unfortunately, the colour does not show up on my lips at all. It is nice and it has the classic lipgloss feeling, but I wanted something more intense.

11. Essence Volume On! Plumping Lipgloss – 02 c’est bon, c’est bonbon

Again, I got this lipgloss to try and I actually like this one. It has a pretty icy pink shade and it does a little plumping, though not too much. The tingling feeling is not too intense and all in all, I like it.

That was all! Thank you for reading!

Tiger Mini Haul

I must say that a couple of months ago I made the most amazing discovery. While I was walking the streets of Rome, and more specifically Piazza Venezia, my friend and I entered a store, which turned out to be heaven.

This store is called Tiger, or Flying Tiger, depending on where you live. It is a variety store which provides very low cost items, but they do not adopt the .99 method, which means that their prices are whole.

They have everything, from kitchen supplies and particular spices to notebooks and iPhone cases. They have anything you can wish for. I fell in love and I am not exaggerating. Their only flaw is that they do not offer online shopping, which is pretty sad, since I would have raided the whole store months ago. One more particularity is that they switch their merchandise quite often, so if you want to buy something in bulk, you should.

Let us get going with this haul.

I am basically obsessed with notebooks and agendas, sue me. Therefore, this was the perfect occasion to splurge, but not too much.

I bought a beautiful black notebook, which has brown paper inside. It cost me €2 and I use it as an almost daily diary, in which I write my thoughts and feelings. I also talked about it here.

img_1859

I then got a big powder blue agenda, which I still have to find a use for. I cost a bit more, I believe €6, but it was worth it. I unfortunately dirtied it with some chocolate, something I hated myself for, but it is still beautiful. This, unlike the previous one, has blank paper on the inside.

img_1863img_1862

Next up, I bought a tiny glittery pink notebook, which I also have to find a use for. It was €1 and I could not resist its prettiness.

img_1865

img_1866
I hope you understand me now.

I then got 2 photo albums, and I honestly regret not getting more, since they do not carry them anymore. I do, however, hope that they will bring them back, since they were the perfect size for my photos. They cost €5 each.

img_1868

img_1870
You guys remember this, right?

Last but not least, I got the cutest keychain ever, inspired by the Fendi ones. There were many colours, but I liked this one the best and I believe it was €3.

img_1874

I also posted it, along with my nails, on Instagram a couple of days ago.

I hope that you liked this mini haul and thank you for reading.

Michael Kors Sunglasses – Review

I have finally, after months of debating, bought myself a pair of sunglasses. The problem was that since I am very, very near-sighted, I had to get them done especially for me, which meant that the price was going to be higher than for a normal pair of sunglasses.

Since I am going to spend my winter holidays in Australia, where it is going to be extremely hot and sunny, I decided to finally go and get them done.

The shop assistant there was very nice and patient, helping me find a pair of glasses perfect both for my budget and my taste. I ended up having to choose between a couple of Michael Kors pairs, one more rounded and one more square. I had to trust my gut and pick the more square pair, since it is slightly more elegant and fits my personality better.

The shop assistant then helped me choose the colour of the lenses, making sure that they were good for driving and measuring everything. One week later, I finally went and got my sunglasses and I could not be happier.

img_1852img_1855

The model I went for is called Marrakesh and they are perfect for me. Apparently they suit better an oval or round face and you can find them in other colours too. I went for the black and silver option, since it is my first pair of sunglasses and I wanted something timeless and that would go well with every outfit.

You can find them on the Michael Kors website, or on other websites specialised in sunglasses, like this or this, if you do not live in the US. For example, on the Italian Michael Kors website I could not find this particular model.

The sunglasses came inside a beautiful and quite particular off-white case, which has a beige suede interior. Inside also came a piece of cloth to clean the glasses with, the guarantee certificate and the manufacturer’s information note.

img_1858img_1847img_1848

As with any other pair of glasses, these have to be cleaned only with water and neutral soap.

I must say that I am delighted with my new purchase and that I cannot wait for the sun to get out of the clouds so I can wear them.

Thank you for reading.

Back to School Haul – 2016

I am starting my last year of high school on the 15th of September and I could not be more ready and excited. I cannot wait to start and really give my all to end my high school experience with a bang. I am really motivated because last year was probably the first year I really put in effort to get high grades and it all payed out in the end, since I finished with the highest overall grade in the whole class, tied with a classmate of mine.

I am the kind of person that gets mainly good results even if they do not put in 100%, but that is going to change this year. I want to dominate and never miss a beat. Of course, I decided to stock up on some items I will need this year.

I discovered this new store called Tiger, or Flying Tiger, that originated in Denmark and can now be found in other European countries, like Italy. Their deal is that they have very low priced items, from kitchen utensils to notebooks, and their prices are not in the .99 format, instead they are whole. The only thing I am saddened by is that they do not sell online.

I decided to get a very nice notebook from them, which will serve me more like an agenda, on which I will write sporadical thought and quotes. It cost €2 and it is black with brownish paper. I am in love.

IMG_9926IMG_9927

I then bought, from a stationery store near me, a fountain pen, with which I am writing in the notebook above. It is made in Germany by Schneider and it is not that fancy, but it does its job. I use black ink. Random fact : I learned how to write with this kind of pen when I was in first grade, since it was mandatory.

IMG_9928

I then bought a school agenda from a brand called No Name; excuse the oxymoron. It is all black and very basic, with no designs on it. I find neutral notes very calming, and I need that at school.

IMG_9929

I also got a rechargeable eraser, for when I mess up my notes. It is by Faber-Castell and it looks very professional. It also has a protection silicone cap that slides.

I then bought a four-highlighter pack from Stabilo, called Swing Cool. I do not think that I will use the fuchsia one, since I cannot concentrate when notes or pages are highlighted in that colour, but I will thoroughly use the other three, especially the blue one, since it is the one that calms me the most when I am studying a difficult subject.

IMG_9933

Also from Stabilo, I bought a set of 20 point 88 coloured pens, which I will use to take pretty and well organised notes. I tend to write everything in black ink, but this will help with visual memory. I will bring the whole pack with me at school.

IMG_9934IMG_9935

Last but not least, I bought a new pencil case from Eastpak, the brand that my backpack is from. I also got it in black, the same colour as said backpack. It is very simple and practical and it holds everything I need, especially the tape that everybody needs from me at all times, do not ask why.

IMG_9936

That is about it. I only need to get my textbooks now, and then the school year can start. I hope that this year will be a great and productive one for everybody and that you will surmount every obstacle.

Thank you for reading.

Best Shorts on the High Street

One of my summer fashion missions was finding a pair of shorts that suited me and fit me like a glove. The problem with most brands is that they offer designs only made for women with a certain waist to butt ratio. My problem is that, while I have a waist best suited for a size M, my butt is a size L.

Had I gotten a pair of shorts from those brands, I would have ended up with a way too tight waistline or my thighs would have been squished out. Also, I wanted shorts that did not need a belt to be tighter around the waist.

My search also consisted of looking through Instagram accounts and seeing if any women were wearing cute, tight and not expensive shorts. I could not believe my eyes when I found this picture  and I asked the girl in the photo where she got her shorts. To my surprise, she got them from Bershka, right here, for €12,99.

You know what? I had actually seen these shorts on the site, but the biggest problem with retailers is that they usually use stick-thin models, on whom you can never see how stretchy the material is. I finally ordered two pairs, the black and the dark blue denim ones and I must say I am extremely happy with my purchase, especially since they are also high waisted.

The only question mark is that, despite getting the same size for both pairs, the black shorts are slightly larger than the denim ones. It is not a problem, since they both fit great, it is just curious.

Haul – 2016 Summer Sale part 2

If you happened to wander these past weeks on my blog, you might have noticed that I did already write a haul for the Summer Sale, but I did go on another shopping trip and I thought that it was more than worth writing a post about, since I thoroughly love each and every item I bought.

My parents and I went to Euroma 2, a shopping centre in Rome, which has mostly high street brands and only a couple high end.

I first stopped at Intimissimi, a lingerie and basic underwear store, because I really needed a triangle bra for the bodysuit I got from H&M. They have this thing called the Perfect Bra Book which has the most essential and basic bras that every woman should have and they come in black, white, and beige. I ended up getting Tiziana, which barely has any padding and is in a pretty open triangle shape. I tried it on with the bodysuit and it is perfect, in both colour and shape. I paid €19,90 for it and it was not on sale.

IMG_8962

I then went to Stradivarius, where you can honestly find a lot of unique but still basic items. I got a very nice dusty rose t-shirt, long enough to be worn with leggings. It is really comfortable and I paid €9,95 for it, despite it not being on sale. You can find it here, along with other colours.

IMG_8964IMG_8965

Next, I got a plain white t-shirt from a brand called Silvian Heach. It is very simple, with a breast pocket and again, the length is just right for leggings. It originally was €16 and it was reduced to €12. I could not find it on the site, but there are many shirts like this around, so just go looking.

IMG_8967IMG_8968

Now, the most successful part of my shopping trip was obviously at ZARA. I will immediately start with my most prized possession as of today, aka my lace up leather sandals. I almost had a stroke when they were sold out on the site the other day, but they had plenty of them in store. They are beautiful and very comfortable, although you must have some patience to tie them up. They were originally €69,99 and they were reduced to €49,99. Here you can have a professional look at them.

IMG_8970IMG_8971

Next, they had a load of coats on sale and I decided to pick up a long basic black trench coat, which initially was €69,95 and it was reduced to €29,99. It was a great deal and all items were extremely reduced, so if you want a coat, go and grab it now. Again, I could not find it on the site anymore.

IMG_8972IMG_8973

I also bought a grey t-shirt style bodysuit. It is super comfortable and it cost €7,95, not being on sale. You can find it here. I love the fit and I love how basic it is, a staple matter-of-factly.

IMG_8975IMG_8976

Another item not on sale was this v-neck black t-shirt. I love it immensely and I know I will get so much wear out of it. It is the perfect shirt to put on when you have not planned an outfit for school or work. It cost €12,95 and you can find it here.

IMG_8977IMG_8978

Finally, the last and the most unexpected item : a pink flow midi skirt, with a thigh high slit which has a shorter and lace-trimmed skirt underneath. The material is so soft and delicate. It is honestly one of those items that look very expensive and unique. It cost €17,99 and I cannot find it on the site, and being on sale I suppose it sold out. I already have a birthday party in September and I intend on wearing this skirt with the sandals above. I just need an appropriate bodysuit.

IMG_8980IMG_8991IMG_8992

I am very happy with my purchases and I plan on using the rest of my budget on online shopping. I need to find a bodysuit for the skirt and some makeup products on ASOS.

You might just get another haul this summer.

Thank you for reading.
